Highlights

Itinerary 1:

Kabelvåg
Facing the Vestfjord, Kabelvåg is perfect for a scenic walk along the pier to the lighthouse or up to King Øystein’s statue, where sweeping panoramic views await. Don’t miss the iconic Lofoten Cathedral, the second-largest wooden cathedral north of Trondheim, with seating for 1,200 people.

Henningsvær – “The Venice of the North”
One of Lofoten’s most charming fishing villages, Henningsvær is a maze of colorful houses connected by bridges and surrounded by dramatic peaks rising straight from the sea. Here, history, tradition, and local cuisine blend with a vibrant Nordic atmosphere.

Gimsøy
The smallest island in the archipelago, Gimsøy offers raw Atlantic landscapes and untamed beauty. Mount Hoven (368 m) is ideal for admiring the midnight sun in summer, while Gimsøysand beach is one of the best spots for northern lights in winter. Visit the small wooden church from 1876, quietly standing against the elements.

Eggum
Nestled between ocean and mountains, Eggum is a place of deep silence and endless summer light. Once home to 600 fishermen, today fewer than 80 people live here. Walking past its colorful houses by the sea is a timeless and unforgettable experience, especially under the midnight sun.

Unstad
A world-famous surf destination, Unstad is surrounded by granite peaks rising 300–650 meters above the sea. Whether surfing Arctic waves, hiking the 8-km trail to Eggum, or relaxing with homemade cakes in the local café, Unstad perfectly blends adventure and calm.

Haukland Beach
Often named one of Norway’s most beautiful beaches, Haukland is known for its white sand and turquoise water. Stunning in every season—whether sunlit in summer or snow-covered in winter—it’s not unusual to see brave swimmers enjoying the pure Arctic sea.

Itinerary 2:

Nusfjord
Located on Flakstadøy, Nusfjord is one of Norway’s best-preserved fishing villages. Its historic rorbuer (fishermen’s cabins) and industrial buildings date back to the 19th and early 20th centuries. Though now an exclusive Arctic resort, Nusfjord remains deeply authentic and was nominated for UNESCO preservation in 1975.

Ramberg & Flakstad Church
Ramberg is a small village with a beautiful white-sand beach and around 300 inhabitants. Nearby stands Flakstad Church, originally established in 1430. Built with timber traded from Russia, its architecture reflects Russian Orthodox influences.

Hamnøy
One of Lofoten’s most photographed villages, Hamnøy sits dramatically between fjord and mountains. Its red cabins, tiny harbor, and towering peaks make it a dream for photographers from around the world.

Reine
Perhaps the most iconic village in Lofoten, Reine lies on a narrow arm of the Reinefjord, surrounded by sharp peaks and crystal waters. A trading post since 1743, it’s also the starting point for the famous Reinebringen hike, offering unforgettable views over Reine, Sakrisøy, and Hamnøy.

Å i Lofoten
Pronounced “Oh,” Å is the southernmost village of the archipelago and the endpoint of the E10 (King Olav’s Road). Once centered on stockfish production, Å is now known for its excellent Stockfish Museum and its role as the traditional starting point of the annual Lofoten fishery.
