En partant de Svolvær, en passant par le village magique et caractéristique de Nusfjord, vous vous dirigerez et visiterez les localités les plus intéressantes du point de vue économique et culturel, les villages les plus traditionnels et les plus caractéristiques, la nature unique et impressionnante, les montagnes imposantes, les plus anciennes d’Europe du Nord, et les merveilleuses plages de sable blanc.

Nusfjord
Located on the island of Flakstadøy, Nusfjord is the prettiest and best-preserved fishing hamlet.

Nusfjord is not just a pretty, culturally interesting, old fishing villages, Nusfjord is also the one where its buildings, its architecture has been preserved along the centuries. And although now it has been converted in a Arctic resort (to preserve the village itself and its beauty from the massive tourism), Nusfjord keeps on being the village where you can breathe the most the Lofoten history.

Nusfjord indeed has been one of Lofoten most important fishing harbours for centuries. The fishermen came for the seasonal cod fishery and stayed in the traditional ‘rorbu’ (fishermen’s cabins). The wooden cabins and industrial buildings date back to the 19th and early 20th century, Nusfjord was one of three nominated locations in Norway for UNESCOs 1975 traditional architecture preservation projects.

Ramberg beach & Flakstad Church
Ramberg is also famous for its white sand beach. The village is located on the island of Flakstadøy and it has 300 inhabitants approximately. Flakstad church is located about 4 kilometres northeast of Ramberg and it is the second church to exist on this site since 1430. The timber used to build the church came form Russia. The people of Flakstad were used to exchange fish for timber. This is way the church has a Russian Orthodox style.

 

Hamnøy is a small fishing village in Moskenes municipality. It is located on the eastern side of the island of Moskensøy about 1,5 km of Reine village, along the Vestfjorden. In the past, Hamnøy was connected to Reine by ferry. The ferry was soon replaced by bridges.

Today it has become one of the most popular site of the Lofoten islands. Every year, photographer coming from all over the world, gather to shot the peculiarities and this small jewel called Hamnøy. Its tiny harbour, its colourful small boats surrounded by high mountains, the oldest of northern Europe, make this place a paradise for the photography lovers.

Reine is the most popular place of the entire archipelago. Its incredible position and stunning nature attract tourists all year around. Reine has in incredible position as lies on the arm of Reinefjorden.

Inhabited by 300 people approximately, Reine has been a trading post since 1743.

From Reine, you can reach and hike “Reinebringen” (a 460 meter high mountain), famous for its unique view to Reine, Sakrisøy and Hamnøy.

Å
Å (Norwegian pronunciation “o”) is a village in Moskenes Municipality in Nordland county, is the southernmost village of the Lofoten archipelago. It is connected to the rest of the archipelago by the European route E10 highway, which ends here. This part of the highway is also called King Olav’s Road.

Until the 1990s, Å was mainly a small fishing village specializing in stockfish, but since then tourism has taken over, it represents today the most important economic resource, The town has a very interesting Stockfish Museum which is worth <an accurate visit. The “Tørrfisk Museet” (Stockfish museum) which, together with the Norwegian Fishing Village Museum, as two big tourist attractions.

Å i Lofoten is where every year the Lofoten Fishery starts.
